Dealing with Cavities

No parent or child wants to hear that they have a cavity, but rest assured we will do everything we can for your child to have a positive experience. In order to put your and your child’s mind at ease, we consult with both of you. Children tend to respond to anxiety in their parents, so please remain calm and confident in our abilities.

In order to keep your child calm and unafraid, we handle all of the explanation about cavities and treatment procedures. We are careful to choose language that minimizes scary words. Cavities are sugar bugs, local anesthesia is sleepy medicine, and we don’t pull teeth, we wiggle them out. The terms are designed to set your child’s mind at ease while still informing them of the process. If your child has questions, we will answer them.
